Star Wars: The Force Awakens Expected to Make $2Billion At Box Office Other | Friday 18th December 2015 | Sam starwars JamesCameron Avatar Titanic Investment Banking Firm, Goldman Sachs, is predicting that the latest installment of Star Wars, The Force Awakens, is going to make almost $2billion at the Box Office, worldwide. These colossal takings highlight the massive global interest in the sci-fi series which is now 38-years-young. The Box Office takings are only one portion of income expected to come in from the release of Episode VII - merchandise has always been a huge part of the brand, and, in this case, figurines and collectibles are looking to bring in around $3billion alone. Despite this huge amount of money expected to come in from the Box Office, Goldman Sachs claim that the film will end up third in terms of the biggest Box Office takings. Which two films have had the biggest takings at the cinema I hear you ask? James Cameron's Avatar comes in at number 2 after taking $2.93billion worldwide. And at the tip of the iceberg (sorry) is another James Cameron film... Titanic! After adjusting inflation, Titanic is said to have taken $3.55billion at the box office... Cameron must have been laughing all the way to the bank! Of course, Goldman Sach's prediction of Star Wars: The Force Awakens making $2billion at the Box Office is precisely that... a prediction. We can't say for sure how much the film will make in cinemas, although I am fairly confident that it'll make at least the expected amount.
