BFI: THE LINE-UP OF THE 68TH EDITION OF THE LONDON FILM FESTIVAL IS UNVEILED

Running October 9-20, the BFI London Film Festival is back with 40 World Premieres (16 features, 2 series, 19 shorts, 3 immersive), 12 International Premieres (6 features, 4 shorts, 2 immersive), and 21 European Premieres (17 features, 1 series, 3 shorts).

The London Film Festival welcomes leading stars from across the international film industry. This year's line-up includes highly-anticipated movies such as Sean Baker’s Palme d’Or winner Anora, Ali Abbasi’s much-talked-about Donald Trump biopic The Apprentice, and Edward Berger’s latest feature ConclaveThe line-up includes Luca Guadagnino’s Queer, Pedro Almodovar’s The Room Next Door, and Pablo Larráin’s Maria. The LFF Series strand returns and will screen Alfonso Cuarón’s much-lauded novel adaptation Disclaimer starring Cate Blanchett, and Thomas Vinterberg’s first foray into TV with Families Like Ours, among the others.

The festival will open with Blitz directed and written by Steve McQueen, and will close with Piece by Piece, directed by Morgan Neville.

About the line-up, the festival Director Kristy Matheson declared: “Cinematic ideas materialize in many forms, and this year artists have taken us to some giddy highs and poked at our tender underbellies. Troubled histories linger close to the surface alongside optimistic futures, all explored in unique and creative ways. As the seasons change and we head into the Autumn, we invite everyone to come to the BFI London Film Festival to discover and enjoy the whole spectrum of moving image.”
