The Wolfpack Returns for More Trouble

Thursday 20th September 2012 | Osh

The Hangover was arguably one of the best comedy franchises. With the possibility of a new cast member, we peek at what the third film might have in store for audiences.

When The Hangover hit our screens in 2009, film goers everywhere went crazy to see it, attracting audiences with its non-stop laughs and boundary pushing events. It was inevitable The Hangover Part II would be made. Now, due to the equal success of the second film, we are eagerly awaiting The Hangover Part III.

Along with the usual troublesome guys, there have been talks of Melissa McCarthy making an appearance. This detail has yet to be confirmed due to her busy schedule working on hit US sitcom Mike & Molly. However, if all goes well, we are likely to see another taste of the comedy actress, though her role will be small.

McCarthy, who has most notably had success in television with shows such as Gilmore Girls, Samantha Who? and most recently Mike & Molly, is now broadening her career after the very successful Bridesmaids launched her as a primary role.

Whether or not her part is confirmed in the third instalment, she is certainly set to make an appearance on the big screens within the next year. We are looking forward to her appearances in This Is 40 released in December as well as Identity Thief and The Heat where she is seen working alongside Sandra Bullock.

However, The Hangover Part III is undoubtedly going to storm the cinemas with a change being made to the storyline. Moving away from the bachelor/wedding scenarios we see ‘the wolfpack’ taking a road trip where inevitably trouble occurs, though cast and crew are keeping quiet about the details. However a few rumours have been circulating about Zach Galifianakis’ Alan and an institution. What this means we can only guess.

Alongside Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms and Zach Galifianaki, regulars including Ken Jeong, Justin Bartha, Sasha Barrese, Gilliam Vigman, Mike Tyson, Jeffrey Tambor make appearances and we see the return of Heather Graham. Shooting has already begun set for a release in May 2013.

We look forward to the trailer and film next year no matter what conclusion is reached about McCarthy’s appearance. However, we love her and hope she will be added to the cast to give a slice of female comedy to the action.
