The DC Universe Becomes R-rated

It appears as though superhero movies are indeed growing up, with Deadpool and Logan being the latest R-rated releases.
Both movies saw huge success in the box office, which perhaps links to the creative freedom that an R-rating provides.
It appears that Warner Bros. notice this as well, as reports are coming out that the studio may follow down the same route.
According to The Wrap, the studio is interested in exploring the rated R movies, stating “One hundred percent yes. With the right character(s).”
Warner Bros. isn’t unfamiliar with the R rated format as Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice did release an R-rated extended cut, which did in fact receive high praise from fans and critics.
Perhaps Warner Bros. saw the success of the cut as well as the imminent success of Fox’s latest projects, and perhaps aim to make the DC extended universe even more darker.
