Moondance tore apart Koko last weekend for their Camden Assembly reunion.
Moondance returned to its spiritual home last weekend for one of their incredible parties celebrating all things rave.
We are welcomed in to the unmistakable pianos of Awesome 3's classic 'Don't Go', courtesy of Slipmatt who wasn't that long into his set. It was clear from the buzz in the club that benchmark had been set high, though Moondance weren't even started yet and the rest of the night's tight line up weren't about to let the standard drop. Slipmatt was ripping the venue apart with his sick mix featuring ALL the classics, giving the older crowd it's youth and the younger crowd an education.
After Slipmatt's onslaught of rave it was time for the headline set. A special set paying tribute to the recently lost legend that is Marcus Intalex. Fabio and LSB went back to back as Manchester's finest MC, DRS hosted the hour long tribute to Marcus. The hour set featured all the best tunes from the late Manchester producer including his spacey; 'Celestial Navigation' and amen smasher; 'Temperance'. It was a set that highlighted exactly why Marcus Intalex was such a legend and a true pioneer of the sound.
The rest of the night follow suit, in terms of quality as the remainder of the line up kept Moondance jumping through till 5. It's reunion at it's spiritual home was nothing short of special, and is exactly why still today Moondance is one of the UK's premier events. Moondance brings a great atmosphere, a sick crowd, and of course; the best in UK rave music.
For those of you that missed this, it's alright you can redeem yourselves by making sure you get to the Moondance festival at Trent Park on August 6th. For details about that head over to the Moondance site.
