We took a look around London's newest venue - Printworks
The first weekend of February saw London's newest venue, Printworks open its doors for the first time. They had sorted a marathon back to back session with tech house royalty Seth Troxler, Loco Dice and The Martinez Brothers.
The following weekend saw the world of bass music it's first taste of the venue as UKF, Snowbombing and Shogun Audio all headed down, providing the mammoth structure a suitable epic line up.
A freezing Saturday afternoon needn't matter as there was a buzz in the air around Surrey Quays. As soon we arrived at Canada Water Station it was clear something's going down, and that was London's biggest bass party in a long while. As you approaching the venue, you finally get a taste of just how industrial it is, in size and style.
Once you finally make your way from the entrance into the epic Press Hall, the scale of work put in by London Warehouse Events is clear. Between two raised platforms, the crowd looks down to the rear where the DJ booth as mad lighting brings a whole new meaning to epic. Lights flashed across the whole room, whilst an industrial scale lazer cut through the air. All complemented by the sheer volume of sound - if you like your bass levels high, then Printworks is a venue for you.
Sitting behind the impressive Press Halls is The Charge Bay - and all day was being torn apart by the Shogun Audio crew. At no point, in either room were you too far from a bar - and rarely you had a que for long, giving you more time in the place where it really counts, the floor.
All day people looks amazed at their newest playground, a ravers dream - an untouched warehouse space in Zone 2. It may have only been their second week but Printworks looks like it's already making it's way to dominate London's club land.
