With news of Christian Bale exiting Michael Mann’s Ferrari, the role for Enzo Ferrari was up in the air. Until now.

Fresh of the staggering success of Logan, Hugh Jackman swaps his claws for driving gloves, as according to Deadline, Jackman will take over the lead role.

Jackson joins Noomi Rapace, who plays Enzo Ferrari’s wife, Linda. The film will depict their unbridled relationship. Ferrari was known to having a “tyrannical and manipulative nature,” even going so far as pushing his drivers to death whilst competing with Maserati.

Mann also wrote the script, which is based on Brock Yates’ Enzo Ferrari: The Man, the Cars, the Races, in a film which will be based in the 1957 documenting Ferrari’s success and tumultuous journey.

Ferrari aims to start production next summer which should likely set a 2019 release.
