Steven Spielberg may have one of the greatest filmography’s in directorial history, with movies such as Jaws, Schindler’s list and so much more ground-breaking movies.
Another one is potentially added to the list as Spielberg is partnering up with Fox to create The Post which would star Academy Award winners and on screen legends Tom Hanks and Meryl Streep.
Deadline reports that Liz Hannah writes the screenplay will follow the journey of Washington Post editor Ben Bradlee (Hanks) and publisher Kay Graham (Streep), as they discover documents known as the Pentagon Papers which reveal that then-recent Johnson administration had lied about the Vietnam war.
This is one of the many movies set for Spielberg’s busy schedule as he has The Kidnapping of Edgardo Mortara starring Mark Rylance and Oscar Isaac in the works as well as Indiana Jones V which is expected to arrive in the summer of 2019.
However, it is worth nothing that The Post will reportedly fit “into Spielberg’s busy schedule soonest”.
The release date is yet to be announced but it will presumably be before Spielberg's other film projects, as well as Ready Player One, arriving in about a year’s time.
Spielberg definitely has his hands full with four films within the next two and a half years set to release, but if you’re teaming up two of the greatest actors of our generation with one of the greatest directors of all time, we have all already bought our tickets.
