What to eat to manage an MDMA come down

Other | Sunday 28th August 2016 | Annalisa

We all know taking MDMA drains your serotonin levels. The drug gets your brain to release large amounts of serotonin which then leaves you deficient the day after and quite often depressed.

Serotonin is made from the amino acid tryptophan. Serotonin isn’t found in foods, but tryptophan is so by eating them the day after, you could be able to lesser the down.

Eggs, cheese (mozzarella, parmesan and cheddar are the best sources), pineapples, tofu and soyabeans, nuts & seeds (pumpkin and watermelon are supposed to be good) turkey, salmon, oats and beans and lentils are all examples of foods high in tryptophan.

So next time, you’ve had a heavy weekend, the fry up will not be your saviour. Have turkey with a side of pineapple & watermelon for breakfast and trust us, there’s also nothing more satisfying than watermelon with a comedown and hangover.
