Wes Anderson's Isle of Dogs - The most striking stop motion film in years

Other | Monday 4th December 2017 | David

Having earned a reputation as one of the most unconventional filmmakers working in Hollywood, the trailer for Wes Anderson's latest endeavour, the stop-motion animated feature Isle of Dogs, illustrates this perfectly.

The film will be Anderson’s ninth overall and his second foray into the world of stop-motion after 2009’s Fantastic Mr Fox and will follow a boy travelling to a remote Japanese island in search of his beloved dog, Spots. The voice cast features a ton of A-list actors including Bryan Cranston, Edward Norton, Bill Murray, Jeff Goldblum, Greta Gerwig, and Scarlett Johansson, in addition to Oscar winners Tilda Swinton, F. Murray Abraham, and Frances McDormand.

Isle of Dogs will be the opening film for the 68th Berlin Film Festival, before opening in the US on March 23 and in the UK on March 30. There aren't many stop-motion films being released these days, so seeing this on the big screen should be an amazing experience.
