Pray the cinema is locked if you want to go and see this film.

Upon seeing the trailers, I was expecting to see a film of Metal Gear Solid-esque action and hard-hitting dialogue, with lines that would stay in your head forever. The games are not even movies but they still retain a sense of blockbuster quality; they can easily be mistaken for films made by a star-studded cast. But Lockout… well… it doesn’t quite fit the same mould.
We’ve all heard it before. 'He’s a loose cannon… the only man for the job'. This premise is ridiculously clichéd, and Lockout even more so. The so-called 'film' centres on an ex-CIA agent, played by Guy Pearce in probably his worst role to date, by the name of John Snow, who is asked by his government to rescue the person who turns out to be the President’s daughter. She is on board a giant orbital space prison… and the film goes downhill from there.
Supposedly an action movie, but actually lacking, well, action, Lockout is a good reason to stay at home and do something else. With physics that simply do not make sense and one-liners that are just awful, Lockout resembles the actual definition of a Z-movie. Pearce's performance is laughable as a cocky, hard-nosed operative; you cannot take his character seriously. It's a film that should not be watched on the big screen; it is better suited for a chance viewing on TV. Simply terrible.
