'Legends of Tarzan' writer to pen 'Suicide Squad' sequel

It appears as though Warner Bros studios are prioritising Suicide Squad 2, as they’ve reportedly reached out to multiple directors to work on the movie, including Mel Gibson.

But the one thing that they do not have to worry about anymore is the writing for the movie, as according to The Hollywood Reporter, Adam Cozard is in negotiations with the studio to write the sequel.

Cozad is most notably known for writing The Legend of Tarzan, another Warner Bros movie.

However, no directors are confirmed for the movie so far,  as it appears that the studio are aiming to focus on the story first.

David Ayer wrote and directed the first movie, and reportedly only had six weeks to write the script, so it appears as though the studio are learning from their initial mistake.

The first Suicide Squad movie received poor critical reviews despite grossing $745 million worldwide.

Cozad is also known for writing Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit, Bloodshot, and The Gray Man. With his Tarzan grossing over $356 million worldwide.

The Suicide Squad sequel will (reportedly) be released in 2019.
