Chris Evans on Donald Trump's Presidency: "I Feel Rage. It's Unbelievable"
When Captain America throws his mighty shield! All those who choose to oppose his shield must yield!
Well it appears that Donald Trump must yield, as the Captain America star Chris Evans is fed up of Trump and his values.
The actor has previously not strayed away from getting involved politically on social media, however speaking with Esquire, Evans fired off his thoughts on the President.
“I feel rage,” he said.” I feel fury. It’s unbelievable.”
He mentioned that Trump’s popularity stemmed from him blaming others for current day frustrations.
“People were just so desperate to hear someone say that someone is to blame,” Evans claimed. “They were just so happy to hear that someone was angry. Hear someone say that Washington sucks. They just want something new without actually understanding. I mean, guys like Steve Bannon – Steve Bannon! – this man has no place in politics.”
Evans, who supported Hillary Clinton during the campaign, admits that being vocal on politics whilst being an actor may not be the best decision, but he can’t help himself.
"Look, I'm in a business where you've got to sell tickets," Evans said. "But, my God, I would not be able to look at myself in the mirror if I felt strongly about something and didn't speak up. I think it's about how you speak up. We're allowed to disagree. If I state my case and people don't want to go see my movies as a result, I'm okay with that."
Chris Evans may very well be the real Captain America, standing up against the villain in Trump. If only we were actually in a comic book, and not reality.
