The first wave of early reviews for Kong: Skull Island have come in and they are fairly positive.
Currently, at the time of writing, Skull Island sits at an 82 percent rating on Rotton Tomatoes, with 33 reviews counted so far.
The critical consensus on the website states, “Offering exhilarating eye candy, solid acting, and a fast-paced story, Kong: Skull Island earns its spot in the movie monster's mythos without ever matching up to the classic original.”
This reboot is not only a reintroduction to the King himself, but the start of the cinematic universe of the giant movie saga’s, Godzilla and King Kong franchises which will ultimately culminate in a King Kong vs Godzilla crossover event set in 2020.
In regards to Skull Island itself, Kong is accompanied with an all-star cast with Tom Hiddleston, Samuel L. Jackson, Brie Larsen, John C. Reilly, John Goodman, Corey Hawkins and Toby Kebbell all appearing in this sure action thriller.
Judging from the early reviews, it is safe to say that Skull Island seems to be a success as we anticipate more reviews prior to release.
Kong: Skull Island hits theatres on March 9 in the UK.
