Carol: Mara and Blanchett start a relationship in 50s New York

Carol is the new romantic drama directed by Todd Haynes, based on the novel The Price of Salt.
Carol is clearly becoming one of the most anticipated and interesting films of the year. In fact Carol received a rapturous response, including a standing ovation at the Cannes Film Festival international press screening and premiere. The film stars Cate Blanchett, Rooney Mara, Sarah Paulson and Kyle Chandler and is set in 1952 in New York City.
The film tells the story of a young female clerk and her relationship with an older, married woman. The innocence of their first encounter dims and their connection deepens. It's not the first of Haynes' movies to get recognition; Far From Heaven and I'm Not There both received Academy Award nominations.
The first trailer has been already released and it just gives an outstanding impression. The film will receive its UK premiere at this year’s London Film Festival and it will be out on general release on November 27th.
