Are you tired of the Twilight saga? Dreading yet another comic book adaptation? Would you rather throw your own grandmother down a flight of wet concrete steps than see another dreary Michael Bay epic?
Well, put granny down and wiggle over to The Prince Charles cinema for films you never thought you’d get to see on the big screen. This recent listings include everything from the art-house (Freaks, The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari) to modern classics (Mean Girls, Anchorman).
But maybe cinema isn’t about enjoyment for you. Maybe it’s about endurance, in which case check out the marathon nights on offer. Who’s up for watching the ENTIRE Aliens Anthology back to back? Or perhaps, if you really want to stress test your buns to the limit and have a spare 540 minutes of a Friday evening, then you’ll want to check out the back to back screening of The Lord of the Rings trilogy. It’s not just classics on offer. There’s also a chance to catch up with films you’re not going to see in your local Odeon. This October the cinema will be showing the twisted comedy horror Excision; a film about a girl who fantasizes about performing surgery on her classmates while living under the influence of her controlling mother. Think Carrie meets ER. But sexy.
Beyond all the shock and splatter there is a rich variety of more fun-loving entertainment on offer too. Rocky Horror Picture Show? Check. The Neverending Story? Check. Sing-a-long Sound of Music? Double-check. The Guestlist Network offices are alive with the sound of hurried costume making.
