The Biggest Movie Out In Cinemas From Friday!
There’s only a few months left of 2012, but we’re not going to be short of things to see at the cinema before 2013 hits. The film that I’m gagging to see is director John Hillcoat’s Lawless. With the likes of Tom Hardy, Shia Labeouf, Gary Oldman and Guy Pearce all sharing the screen chances of this film disappointing are let’s face it...pretty slim.
Lawless is based on the true story of the infamous Bondurant Brothers and is set in Franklin County, Virginia during the Prohibition era. The three brothers, Forrest (Tom Hardy), Howard (Jason Clarke) and Jack (Shia LaBeouf) run a successful liquor bootlegging business, but then a brutal law enforcer, Special Agent Charlie Rakes (Guy Pearce) comes along demanding a cut of all their profits. The Bondurant brothers unceremoniously tell him where to go and naturally all hell breaks loose. We’re engulfed into a world of guns, violence, betrayal, courage, brotherhood and love. If you’re like me and enjoy a good gangster story this should be right up your street.
Tom Hardy and Gary Oldman are two of Britain’s biggest actors right now and have worked on a few films together over the last couple of years, including Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy and The Dark Knight Rises. Both were films that had me on the edge of my seat, so I definitely have high hopes for Lawless. Here’s the trailer to get you guys as excited as I am.
