This film is pulled from a real story: the one of Kim et Krickitt Carpenter, which is told in the book the film is based on, also titled “The Vow”. In fact, after their wedding in 1993, the couple had a car accident which instantaneously sank Krickitt into a deep coma. When she woke up, she had forgotten 18 months of her life, including Kim, her husband. Thus, he decided to conquer her back again. Nowadays, the couple is still married and deeply in love.
When his film went out in the USA during the St Valentin, it was a real success, more than 40 millions dollars during his first play, one of the three best start up after Hitch - Expert en séduction and Valentine's Day.
In this film, the main couple is played by Channing Tatum and Rachel McAdams, McAdams coming back after her first success with The Notebook.
Even if it is quite old now, go and buy it; it's a great way to spend your evening.
