Independent filmmaker, Pia Getty, has decided to find and help the next generation of filmmakers and support creative talent by setting up Pia Pressure, a film and television production company.
The aim of the company is to support emerging talent and new voices, help them develop and make original content. With focus on female filmmakers and filmmakers from underrepresented backgrounds, Pia Getty is also joined by producer James Durrant and director Johnny Kenton who are also supporters and enthusiastic about helping the arts and new voices.
The company offers a number of awards including the Pia Pressure Award which gives participants the opportunity to receive support and funding from investors. Each winning team will receive up to £25,000 in order to help fund their project.
Pia Pressure is hoping that the winner of the award will become life peers along with their joining Pia Pressure’s network. In addition to this, they will have some teaching opportunities for first timers.
