Chris Rock Rewrites Oscars Monologue to Address Race Issue
Chris rock will remain host of the Oscars this year, and claims to address privilege in his opening monologue.
Many suggested that Rock should quit as host after the Academy failed to nominate anyone from a black or ethnic minority background for the second year running.
Rock’s producer commented that audiences should be ready for jokes addressing #OscarsSoWhite: ““The Academy is ready for him to do that… They’re excited about him doing that. They know that’s what we need.”
