Oblivion set for April 2013 release

Upcoming science fiction film Oblivion has been set an official release date for April 26th 2013. Directed by Joseph Kosinski, his follow-up to Tron: Legacy, follows a soldier (Tom Cruise) stationed on a desolated Earth who discovers a mysterious woman in a crash-landed pod.
The trailer then gives a plot run-down generic enough to suit any sci-fi: alien invasion, destroyed planet, human dipshit comes in and tries to fix stuff, guns and explosions. And Morgan Freeman. Fortunately, there's some epic music at the end, to make the plot seem somewhat epic.
Don't be fooled into thinking this might not be a star-vehicle though. Actor Nikolaj Coster-Waldau said in an interview with Empire magazine, "It's a Tom Cruise movie for sure; I don't think there's a scene without him." The movie's release could be overshadowed by the growing hype for the May 15th release of Star Trek Into Darkness, leaving Cruise shaking his tiny man-fists with rage.
