Bond 24 Scheduled For 2016

Another long wait…
The 24th James Bond film has been scheduled for release in 2016. MGM and Eon have revealed that a screenplay is currently in development and that a director has yet to be signed to the film, with Skyfall director Sam Mendes announcing that he would not be returning for Bond 24. However, screenwriter John Logan will be staying on for the next Bond outing. A director is expected to be announced soon.
Rumours have been dismissed that Bond 24 and 25 were to be a two-part story by the companies, noting that Bond actor Daniel Craig would be 48 by the next film and would look too old by the time of its sequel. And if the last Indiana Jones film was any warning about casting older actors in young man’s roles, a ruddy looking Bond wheezing his way up an elevator shaft would not be a box office draw.
The latest Bond film, Skyfall, is currently the highest grossing British film of all time, collecting over $1bn internationally, and was greeted with critical acclaim upon release. Adele won the Oscar for Best Original Song earlier this year.
Skyfall is currently available for purchase.
