Heroes have always been a part of the movie world, they should probably have their own genre as they're the source of so much entertainment (we just love a bit of the super human). But recently you can't help but notice that the film industry is just full on binging on superheroes.
Over the last few years Marvel Entertainment has been reuniting us with our favourite comic book heroes of the past and we've welcomed them back with open harms. Iron Man, Thor, Captain America, Spider Man, The Hulk, and X-Men have all been invading our screens and it looks as though they'll be laying siege for a while. April 2012 saw most of these individuals come together for The Avengers Assemble, to form a super-team. They managed to master the challenge of having so many superhuman characters share the screen without them over shadowing eachother. 2011 saw the rise of Thor and Captain America, so that the audience would get to meet them before the release of the Avengers.
But Marvel aren't stopping there. Filming for Thor: The Dark World, set to be released in November 2013, has already began and Captain America: The Winter Soldier is due to hit cinemas in April 2014. And let's not forget the third instalment to the Iron Man franchise, Iron Man 3, will be out in April 2013. With a six month gap between each film, it's clear that superheroes aren't going to be leaving us for a while, but hey as long as they keep us entertained...who are we to complain? Did I mention that Joss Whedon (Avengers Director) has already started a script for an Avengers squel?! Hello May 2015!
And shockingly enough IT DOESN'T STOP THERE! We've also got Man of Steele coming out in...2013 and it's been announced that the new Spider Man film is going to be part of a trilogy! Next thing ya know they'll do another Cat Woman film, fingers crossed that they don't though...think the last one was bad enough.
So if all this has got your super juices flowing, check out The Avengers Assemble trailer below, the DVD is out September 25th.
