It’s the 25th anniversary of this films initial release, and to celebrate, the Barbican are showing Spike Lee’s groundbreaking movie for one single night.
Do the right thing is a 1989 Multi-ethnic American-drama, produced, written, and directed by Spike Lee.
Based in Brooklyn, Do the right thing, brilliantly details the relationships between the differing Italian, Puerto Rican, black and Korean communities and how the fragile harmony which exists between them comes apart at the seams one extremely hot summers day, as minor inter-racial conflicts turn into a full blown race riot. Colourful, urban, gritty and vivid, Director Spike Lee is at his best.
