If you thought the vampire craze was over with the last of the Twilight films? You'd be wrong. It's seems the age of the Vampire related saga is to live on just as long as the fanged beasts themselves.
Vampire Academy: Blood Sisters is to be released 19th February 2014. If you can't wait that long, you can sink your teeth into the best-selling Vampire Academy series of books by author Richelle Mead.
The plot seems pretty familiar; good vampires exist and bad vampires exist. Good vampires fight the bad vampires. So what makes it any different from Twilight or True Blood? In this case, the film follows protagonist Rose Hathaway. Rose is a Dhampnir, a guardian who is half human, half vampire. Her job is to protect Moroi, mortal vampires against the Strigoi, immortal vampires. She is trained on how to protect her fellow vampires at St Vladimir's but is forced to run away in order to protect her best friend. Rose will be tested as she must resist the man she has fallen for and fight for her vampire sisters. After all, 'Blood is family. Blood is pain. And blood is death' or so the tag line goes.
The film is directed by Mark Waters of Mean Girls fame and stars Olga Kurylenko (Quantum of Solace), Sarah Hyland (Modern Family) and Zoey Deutch (Beautiful Creatures.)
