The Human Rights Watch Film Festival returns to London!

Other | Wednesday 7th March 2018 | David

The Human Rights Watch Film Festival returns for its 22nd year, delivering an exciting selection of award-winning documentaries and feature films that shed light on contemporary human rights issues around the world.

From the 7th to the 16th March, the festival will be screening 14 films in cinemas across London. Half of these politically conscious works were helmed by female directors, including Naila and the Uprising, a documentary screening on International Women’s Day (8th March) that chronicles the struggles of a key figure in the Palestinian uprising that broke out in 1987.

Other highlights include A Cambodian Spring, an intimate depiction of the country’s recent political turmoil, and closing film Silas, a profile of the life of Liberian activist Silas Siakor. The directors of these and other entries will be attending the festival for some post-screening Q&As.

The London Human Rights Watch Film Festival runs 7th – 16th March. Check out the full line-up here.
