The event was sure to host the best – dressed, for the 66th time. Yes, the Cannes film festival opening; only a week after the BAFTA’s, brought together the well – known faces of the red carpet. Not only did hundreds show up to collect generous film awards and represent, but there was also an evident competition in style; from Cara Delevingne to Freida Pinto, all that shone on the red carpet were certainly there to impress.
Cara Delevingne, who stole the limelight, yes, even from Leonardo Di Caprio, showed off her amazing figure in a long black Burberry dress. The British face of some of the most remarkable designers in the world proved once again that she knew that she was the talk of the town... well – Cannes, and couldn’t care of any ruthless critics! The black lace detailed Burberry gown was enough to turn all cameras Cara’s way as she posed in utter confidence and style. Completing her look with the finest Chopard jewellery and sexy red lipstick, the young model proved to simply glisten.
In representing Burberry and best of all, herself, Cara had great competition with big names at the event. Freida Pinto was another glamorous icon who didn’t fail to shine on the red carpet. Her long, elegant and eye - catching fuchsia pink costume, by Gucci, was enough to speak for itself. Appearing at Cannes as the L’Oreal ambassador, Pinto was determined to represent the beauty brand in the brightest way possible and show off her perfect figure. Pinto's flawless image and competition with fellow contendors was worth seeing.
Where the best of Hollywood met faces of London to Bollywood, Carey Mulligan blew a spark as she walked down the red carpet in her Balenciaga jumpsuit. The leading actress of Great Gatsby looked sophisticated and confident as she appeared for the opening of the Cannes film festival and premiere of her newest movie Great Gatsby. Showing that the actresses can too outshine the models, Mulligan proved a steady look; prepared for the two week - long marathon of style, class and attitude.
