Movie Review: Wreck It Ralph

Unless you've been living under a rock, you would know that Wreck It Ralph is the latest animated movie by Disney. It was released on February 8th, 2013 and includes voice work from John C. Reilly [Step Brothers, The Vampire's Assistant], Jack McBrayer [Despicable Me], and Jane Lynch [Glee, The 40-Year-Old Virgin].
The movie is set in an arcade inside the video games, with all the characters being video game characters. When the arcade shuts down for the night the characters all come to life and do their own thing and are able to leave their own video games and travel to others. The main character in the movie is called Wreck It Ralph and he is from a game called Fix-It Felix, Jr. At the beginning of the movie, the video game characters are celebrating Fix-It Felix's 30th anniversary, without Ralph. Ralph realises he no longer wants to be the bad guy anymore and wishes he would be invited up into the house with the other characters. When Ralph tries to join the party, the characters shun him for being a bad guy, which is when Ralph decides that he is going to win a medal to prove that he is good.
Ralph then travels to a video game called Tapper where he later learns that he can earn a medal in the game Hero's Duty. Ralph enters the game and wins a medal. As Ralph tries to exit the game in an escape pod, a Cy-bug [which is the enemy in Hero's duty] gets into the pod with him and crash lands into a game called Sugar Rush.
As this is all going on, Fix It Felix's game gets put out of order because Ralph isn't there and everyone from the game starts to worry. If Ralph doesn't return soon then the game will be unplugged and the game characters will be homeless... or worse. So Felix follows Ralph to get him back, which is how he meets Sergeant Tamora Jean Calhoun, who is the lead character of Hero's Duty. Felix and the Sergeant team up because Felix wants to get Ralph back and the Sergeant needs to destroy the Cy-bug before it destroys Sugar Rush.
In Sugar Rush, Ralph meets a kid called Vanellope who steals his medal so she can race in her game. So to get the medal back, Vanellope needs to win the race so she can give it back to Ralph. The reason she wants to race so much is because she is a game glitch and the king doesn't allow her to race, which is her dream! Ralph helps Vanellope build a race kart and she enters the race. As the race is going on we find out that the Cy-bug has laid loads of eggs and they all hatch and begin to attack Sugar Rush. Everyone in the game leaves because everything is being destroyed by the Cy-bugs. But the one problem is that Vanellope can't leave because she is a glitch. Ralph refuses to leave the game without her so he risks his life and destroys all the Cy-bugs himself. Because of his brave heroism, everyone now has respect for Ralph and treat him as one of the good guys which is what he had always dreamed of. At the end of the movie Fix -It Felix and the Sergeant fall in love and get married. But what I have left out is a very big part of the movie which is a giant plot twist. So you'll have to go see the movie yourself if you want to find out the rest! ;-)
The movie is like any Disney movie, it's for kids but it's also for adults, teenagers... anyone! I would highly recommend you go see it.
