Babies With A Twist

Here’s a mix of laughter and comedy for both men and women with a twist. Never thought a film about pregnancy could cater to men? Well, it is 2012 after all.
Starting with some sexy and sassy dancing from Cameron Diaz and Matthew Morrison you wouldn’t think What To Expect When You’re Expecting is about bellies larger than basketballs (even if the title reveals everything). From this dance show opening there’s an introduction to Jennifer Lopez and her photography career where babies are her forte and after this you realise that in every shot there’s talk of babies and pregnancy. It’s a slight daze seeing such an all-star cast but for good reasons. The relationship between the characters are not as strongly interlinked as that of films like Valentine’s Day or New Year’s Eve, nevertheless, the big beautiful names are a great addition.
It’s questionable exactly how this film can concern itself with men in a light hearted manner, although the group of fathers walking with their kids provide humour for all of men-kind. You really don’t need to be a father to enjoy the storylines. If you are a father then you could possibly relate to how your woman suffered or the ridiculous things your infants do under your care! Kirk Jones has directed a masterpiece that deals with love and the unexpected in a fun, easy going fashion.
What To Expect When You’re Expecting does not only hold laugh out loud magic but deals with the underlying issues of exactly what to expect whether good or bad, whilst keeping a positive aura around the characters. A tear or two can be shed before dealing with the topic in a careful and considerate manner. Then again, there are great distractions for women with some delectable eye candy in the form of Chace Crawford and Rodrigo Santora. There’s also nothing more attractive than someone who can make you piss yourself with laughter; Chris Rock!
Grab your husbands, boyfriends and baby daddies because they’ll love this too for all the wrong reasons (not the beautiful ladies). If you still need convincing, Dennis Quaid stars with Brooklyn Decker – the most antagonising couple EVER.
