Trainspotting 2 is on!

Director Danny Boyle has confirmed that the sequel will be his next project.
The original cast - Ewan McGregor, Ewen Bremner, Robert Carlyle, Jonny Lee Miller – are all up for returning, it’s just a matter of organising various schedules.
The sequel will be based on Irvine Welsh’s noel Porno, and although back in 2013 Boyle described it as “not a great book in the way that Trainspotting, the original novel, is genuinely a masterpiece”, he has called John Hodge’s script “terrific”.
The story picks up with the main characters ten years on from the events of Trainspotting. In the novel Sick Boy is involved in making underground porn films in Edinburgh, Renton is living in Amsterdam running a nightclub, Spud is considering suicide and Begbie has just got out of prison.
With Trainspotting’s 20th anniversary coming up next year, it looks like it’s the perfect time for number two. Reminisce with this little classic:
