Jack The Giant Slayer

Wednesday 21st November 2012 | Osh

Looks like the box-office will be staying on the Once Upon a Time route for a while, with films such a Hansel and Gretel Witch Hunters and Jack the Giant Slayer set to be released in 2013.

At least these films provide us with two separate stories, for some ridiculous reason 2012 saw not one, but TWO adaptations of the classic Snow White, in the form of Mirror Mirror and Snow White and The Huntsman. Of the two I opted to see Snow White and The Huntsman, not only did it have the edge as far a visual effects, but it also starred the beautiful Chris Hemsworth (that was the main decider).

Similarly to Snow White and The Huntsman, Jack The Giant Slayer is a modern day spin on the timeless fairytale, Jack and the Giant Beanstalk. Director of The Usual Suspects and X-men, Bryan Singer, takes us on a whirlwind journey in which the long-standing peace between men and giants is threatened.

Nicholas Hoult plays Jack, the “simple farm boy” who gets catch-up in this adventure after he inadvertently opens a portal to the realm of giants and must brave this dangerous new territory in order to rescue the beautiful princess Isabelle (Eleanor Tomlinson).  Other co-stars include Ewan McGregor, Stanley Tucci and Bill Nighy.

The film opens in the UK on 22 March 2013, from the trailer I’m pretty sold, check it out below and see if you think it’s worth the watch:
