See Jason Statham in Parker

Jason Statham will be gracing our screens again in new action film Parker.
I have always felt that Jason Statham is one of those actors who everyone knows, but who doesn’t get the attention he deserves. Though he is brilliant at what he does. The cockney geezer who has starred in films such as Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, Snatch and Revolver is back again, in another lead role, as Parker in the film entitled, well, Parker.
The film, which is based on the series of novels by Donald Westlake, tells the story of Parker, a thief who has morals: he doesn’t steal from people who can’t afford it and doesn’t hurt people who don’t deserve it. It sounds too good to be true, in my opinion. Sure enough, these morals are challenged by his crew, who rip him off and leave him for dead. Understandably he seeks revenge, with a little help from a female real estate agent (Jennifer Lopez).
Taylor Hackford directs this new edition to the Parker films, with Statham the usual action hero. It looks set to bring in the usual action crowd with the added extra of some witty lines which can only be pulled off with Statham’s gritty growl of a voice. I can’t say it will blow your mind, but is definitely worth having a look. It won’t be in cinemas until January 2013, but you can watch the newly available trailer here:
