Sinister

From the director of The Exorcism of Emily Rose, comes a new supernatural thriller inspired by the recently successful The Woman in Black.
The Woman in Black was a fantastic theatre production for me and even after the fourth time I was still jumping out of my seat. So when it came to screen starring Harry Potter sensation Daniel Radcliffe, I was more than a little sceptical and never got round to witnessing it.
Though that’s not an issue this winter, but there is another film with parallels to the Susan Hill novel. A new thriller from the producer of the Paranormal Activity films and the writer and director of The Exorcism of Emily Rose, will appear in screens next week.
Sinister tells the story of a true crime novelist (Ethan Hawke) who uncovers footage about an unexpected family murder. It is only then that he realises his discoveries are putting his own family in the path of the same fate. A classic horror story that we see occur again and again, however, there are high hopes for this less known jumper.
Though some viewers have discouraged seeing the trailer as it shows too much and leaves the audience expecting certain events, if you’re curious about the film, have a look. It got me a little freaked out. Though I must agree, a less revealing trailer would have excited me more.
Sinister will be showing in cinemas from October 3rd.
