If you are anything like me and miss those days of old ska and reggae bands like The Specials then you better read on.
A group you should definitely know about is General Roots. You may not have heard of them now, but they are on their way to becoming pretty big within the reggae scene so it’s worth checking them out on Soundcloud. As a six piece band from North London they have previously supported artists such as Shy FX and Gentlemen’s Dub Club.
General Roots is all about the vibes, creating a fresh urban sound that stays true to its London roots.But before you get start playing those tunes, be aware that this band will force you to get your hands waving and heads shaking even if it’s raining outside. Their next gig is at the Secret Garden Party Festival in Cambridgeshire on the 21st July which is set to be a mental one, so grab a ticket while you can.
