Grammy-winning artist Buju Banton may still be serving his nine-year US prison sentence but he’s already planning his first tour after his upcoming release, which is scheduled for December 8th this year.

The first dates confirmed for the renowned Jamaican singer’s Long Walk To Freedom Tour are March 30th in Nassau, Bahamas and April 22nd in Trinidad, with more international shows to come. “There is quite a few… a lot, a lot!” Banton’s publicist Ronnie Tomlinson told Whatz Up NY. “As you can imagine the promoters are reaching out, contacting, wanting to have that opportunity to have Buju in their country.”

According to Caribbean World Entertainment, sources indicate that Banton has been “continuously writing while incarcerated.” Sure enough, Tomlinson also mentions that the dancehall and reggae artist known for songs like 'Make My Day' and 'Champion' is “definitely in that creative spirit,” implying that new material may be on the way.
