The full theatrical trailer for Total Recall has been released, and apart from the hefty dose of CGI, it's looking pretty good.
The movie, which stars Colin Farrell, is a remake of Paul Verhoeven's 1990 sci-fi / action classic with Arnold Schwarzenegger. It revolves around its poor protagonist, Douglas Quaid, who becomes entangled in a complex web of reality-bending revelations and deceits. This latest trailer visits some key plot points, and seems to be following almost beat-for-beat the original. There's the familiar 'shoot her, not me!' scene, the ingenious facial disguise sequence, and the infamous moment where Quaid is tempted with a woman's, well, trio of assets.
But there's some new stuff, too - the setting is different, apparently in the United Federation of Britain. Action sequences are - thankfully - brand new, including a car chase. And so far, we haven't seen a mention of Quaid's climatic voyage to Mars - but hopefully, they're saving that for a surprise. So what do you reckon? Will Total Recall be a great film on its own, or will the viewers suffer too much déjà vu and stick with the original?
