Once upon a time in the world of Hip Hop, there was a feud between two icons – an Atlanta based CEO of ‘CTE World’, and a Florida based founder of ‘Mayback Music Group’.
The beef between Young Jeezy and Rick Ross, which apparently surfaced in 2010, reached its climax at the 2012 BET Awards.
Do you remember a certain album that ‘Ricky Ross the Boss’ has been talking about? He finally advertised a teaser trailer online towards the end of January revealing the release date of his forthcoming project ‘MASTERMIND’. And that wasn’t all. The Carol City resident dropped a bombshell, sending shockwaves through the Hip Hop industry after revealing a scheduled collaboration with Young Jeezy! ‘#WARREADY’. He even shared a snapshot posing alongside his long time rival inside a recording studio – flashing alcoholic bottles. My theory is that there’s more to the photo than meets the eye. Alcoholic bottles are associated with celebratory occasions. The union of two former Hip Hop enemies who have both made an impact on the industry is definitely a reason to pop bottles!
A month after the announced collaboration Rick Ross released video footage of himself and Young Jeezy bonding during the filming process of the music video for the single ‘War Ready’. You need to see it to believe it!
It gets better!
This past Wednesday Rick Ross appeared on ‘RapFix Live’ and announced another collaboration with Young Jeezy! The MMG boss didn’t reveal when it was going to happen but he did dish out dirt regarding the backstory behind his beef with his former foe. He also attested to settling the feud with Jeezy “like bosses”.
All’s well that ends well!
