iPad Pro - 5 Things You Need To Know

Other | Tuesday 10th November 2015 | Sam

With the release of Apple's hotly-anticipated tablet, the iPad Pro, finally upon us, we take a look at the latest competitor for your laptop and give you the rundown of what to expect from it.

5. The Size -
Apple's biggest ever iPad. The iPad Pro measures in at a hefty 12.9 inches in height with a retina display... just shorter than the average MacBook Pro (13.3 inches), and is as wide as the iPad Mini is tall. Pretty fucking big for a tablet, yeah... but remember, it is supposed to be the evolution of the laptop! It must be noted that at the same time as being a large tablet, it will still be pretty thin, around 6.9mm to be exact, and will weigh just over half a kilo.

4. The Colours -
In the history of Apple products, colour has never been a big thing. If you wanted an iPod or an iPhone, you had to stick with the boring monochrome casing - with the exception of iPod Nanos of course. However, in more recent years, Apple have been getting exciting with their colour schemes, and so, the iPad Pro comes in Silver, Gold, or Space Grey... still all pretty bland colours, but something new nonetheless!

3. The Price -
So, for the standard 32GB model, pricing starts at a mere £679... spare change. But if you fancy the top-of-the-range 128GB model, expect to fork out a cool £899. Trust me when I say Apple means business with their new tablet.

2. The Sound -
For the first time, there is a four-speaker audio system built in to the iPad... yeah us neither. Apparently it puts up three times the volume of the iPad Air 2, but I suppose any less than that would be stupid 'cause of the sheer size of the thing.

1. The Peripherals -
Smart Keyboard: If you want to transform your boring ol' iPad Pro into a laptop from the future, this is a must have! Connecting to the iPad's smart connector port, which carries power and data to the keyboard, there is no need for annoying bluetooth pairing anymore - and it will only cost you £139 extra! Fuckin' bargain!

Apple Pencil:

What an inventive name! Apple are either getting cocky with their branding, or are missing the creativity of Steve Jobs - who famously hated the idea of an Apple-branded stylus. We don't have to explain what this peripheral does, as it is, in its most basic form... a pencil (which will cost you £79).
