Goose unleash their brand of techno-synth and its bloody brilliant!

House | Monday 3rd April 2017 | Ben

In a few years we will be looking at contemporary classics, among the many other great albums that'll be mentioned What you need by Goose will be high up that list. Want to know why?

The Flemish electronic scene has been killing it for years now. Acts like Soulwax and Aeroplane have been making excellent music with great studio albums like From Deewee and Why Can't we Fly?

The country’s reputation for churning out superb electronic music is only going to be strengthened with Goose's synth inspired LP What You Need.

The record is heavily synth focused and combines intricately crafted electronica with a traditional pop vibe. The title track 'What You Need' is a highlight and the vocals don’t overshadow or drown out the excellently structured synth layers.

The LP is very well structured and the experimental songs on the album are slow-burning pieces of technical brilliance, ‘Call Me’ being a particular favourite because of its excellent guitar hook, and superb use of layering.

The technical brilliance of bands like Goose are why Belgium's reputation is only going to get stronger. With a tight and intricate live show to go along with the impressive studio album, it's no surprise the European scene is leaving most of us behind.
