Gorillaz Get Weird!
It was only two weeks ago that we told you that Gorillaz were curating their own festival, Demon Dayz Festival, at Dreamland in Margate.
This week they dropped FOUR new tracks, each wildly different to the others.
It was a tough tossup between Ascension, an up-beat track featuring Vince Staples and Saturnz Barz featuring Popcaan, but Saturnz Barz came out on top as our track of the month.
With some heavy bass and the contrast of the Popcaan hook and spacy 2D verse, the song is addictive on first listen. It’s not easy to blur the lines of dub, bashment and indie but Gorillaz do it seamlessly on this massive comeback track.
In true Gorillaz style the video is intriguing, creepy and, in parts, akin to tripping your balls off. As Gorillaz grow, their style of animation grows with them and the visuals for the new album are insane.
Humanz drops on the 28th of April and with the four releases each so different from each other, all we can expect is one hell of an album.
