Girlband! have released their new single ‘Heartbreak Town’ today via Soul Kitchen/EMI North. It is the final single before the release of their debut EP ‘Heartbreak Town’, out 30th July which also features previous singles ‘Not Like The Rest’ and ‘21st Century Suffragette’. The release comes after the band played Glastonbury for the first time.

'Heartbreak Town' comes built on a brilliantly infectious melody, a widescreen and open-hearted track that captures the essence of the Nottingham-based trio perfectly. The blending of punk, rock and indie with a pop sensibility comes with one of Georgie’s best vocals to date. With a universal message that is sure to resonate, it sets the band up for their forthcoming EP.

Singer Georgie talks about the track -

“‘Heartbreak Town’ is written about a town called Mansfield where I grew up. The lyric is very much about always being rooted in the town you grew up in and how your heart always belongs there, even though the town has lost many of the things that were there when I was young and so much sadness I saw there growing up,  it will still always be my home town. And it’s very much inspired by family and friends and people of Mansfield that keep the fire alive there.”

Girlband! will release ‘Heartbreak Town’ EP on 30th July. The EP will feature the three previous singles and live recordings. The EP will be a snapshot of a band on the rise, the sound of the Nottingham-based trio blending rock, punk and indie to create songs of truth and rebellion. Live the band amplify things to create a world of their own, a joyous, all-inclusive zone of empowerment.

Girlband! have just played Glastonbury, appearing on the Introducing Stage. Watch them perform 'Not Like The Rest' here. This follows a recent first headline UK tour, a stunning show at The Great Escape, supported Eaves Wilder and Nxdia and their first gigs in France. Although still early in the band’s career they have already been tipped by NME, Rolling Stone, Clash and Dork, as well as BBC Radio 1 and 6 Music
