Forbes Reveals Wealthiest Hip Hop Artists 2016 RnB/Hip Hop | Wednesday 4th May 2016 | Tom BIrdman Drake Dr Dre Jay Z P-Diddy Forbes Respected U.S business magazine Forbes has released its list of wealthiest hip-hop artists, with one not so surprising addition. As usual P Diddy reigns supreme on the list by earning his way to a staggering $750m, helped in no small part by his stake in the highly profitable Ciroc Vodka. Hot on P Diddy’s heels is Dr Dre, his deal to sell Beats Headphones was the single LARGEST payday for ANY musician in HISTORY, and the successful film ‘Straight Outta Compton’ helped him boost both his reputation and wealth. Dre is now worth a reported $710m. The Tidal streaming service has helped Jay Z amass $610m, Tidal now boasts 3 million paid subscribers all helping Jay-Z reach his goals. He may feel that people aren’t putting enough ‘respeck’ on his name, but Birdman’s $110m fortune speaks for itself. Although he is down from the $140m he had last year owing to turmoil in his Cash Money label he retains his fourth spot on the list. With 50 Cent filing for bankruptcy Drake moves into fifth spot on the list, although he has a long way to go in order to reach P Diddy’s $750m, Drake is worth $60m with help from Apple and Nike cheques.
