Rude Kid nods to the godfather of grime

RnB/Hip Hop | Thursday 24th March 2016 | Christina

Rude Kid continues to smash out the grime instrumentals with 'Wiley Kat'.

A nod to early grime in both name and taste, and with a bassline reminiscent of the early days of the genre, 'Wiley Kat' is a monster. Explaining the track's title, Rude Kid said, "I named this tune after the godfather of grime, Wiley, because when I was making it I was picturing him MCing over the tune. I think he was the first person I showed it to when it was done and I was flattered that he loved it. It's the perfect tune for my DJ sets."

Like previous drop 'Oh My Bass', 'Wiley Kat' is taken from Rude Kid's EP Noah's Ark, which is out on March 25th via Rinse.
