Pink Nose Party share new single 'End of Summer'

Other | Saturday 24th October 2015 | Lilly

French band Pink Noise Party's new single makes you lament the end of those warm summer days, that feeling of not wanting something to end. Joy Buckley, Syd X. Rey and Sebastien Tanquart take us on that journey.

Pink Noise Party have invented their own musical category, Quantum Electro Rock. The group was founded by a trio of physicists who met in a record shop during an international physics conference in Los Alamos. They apply their scientific knowledge to their music, composing with the aid of self-invented devices they call Quantum Gimmicks Generators (Q2Gs).

Pink Noise Party's musical influences range from The Arcade Fire, Hot Chip, Metronomy and Phoenix to Cut Copy, Empire Of The Sun and The Presets. Sonic Youth are also favourites, and the group maintain that their “vocals are primarily inspired by early David Bowie and Pink Floyd albums.” Like Bowie and Floyd, they’re not averse to expansive, innovative multimedia conceits.

RIOT for example was a street performance, created and directed by the Party, that combined music and dance and was part of Nuit Blanche 2014, an international event in Paris with undeniable success that celebrates contemporary art.
