Rockwell's massive first cut from the debut album.
Drum and Bass | Thursday 22nd October 2015 | Arren
Rockwell blasted back into the scene this week in true form.
Rockwell returned this week with a new tune, Please Please Please that exploded on the radio waves; premiering on Mistajam’s show, played by Zane Lowe and if that weren’t enough – it made it as Friction’s ‘Fire’. Its classic Rockwell, all the boundaries are pushed. He has created a wicked track that chimes much like a 90s house tune, just its lot faster and with a tonne of bass thrown in, you know just because.
The return is made all the sweeter as Please Please Please will be the first cut from the technical masters debut album, scheduled for release late November. Entitled Obsolete Medium the 15 tracked LP sums up his style; fast and technical. Whilst delivering some straight up drum & bass the album also sees Rockwell pushing into other territories from hip-hop to house. Other features on the album include collaborations with L’aimant, Sam Bringa & Hyroglifics, Jams to name a few.
His unique and intricate style is apparent across the whole album that really proves his talents as a producer. He joins the dots between all the different styles, and keeps true to his sound that has over the years left many clubbers gobsmacked with its innovative and fresh take on drum & bass.
You can listen to snippets and pre-order Obsolete Medium from the Shogun Audio site. Rockwell is on Facebook / Twitter.
