Depeche Mode’s fans, such as myself have been waiting for three years to see the most successful electronic band in the history of music back on tour. Last week, Depeche Mode’s world tour came to London’s O2 promoting their new album, Delta Machine. The band’s edgy lyrics and minimalist sound has attracted many young fans, as Dave Gahan himself was suprised with this!
The atmosphere was simply amazing at the O2 last Wednesday night, making it “one of the most striking of 2013’s big rock shows”, according to The Guardian
The show opened with the track, ‘Welcome to My World’ with gripping CGI graphics to match the song. In the second part of the show reminded the audience why Depeche Mode is Depeche Mode! They played their most loved tracks from their previous albums. ‘Enjoy the Silence’ and ‘Just Can’t Get Enough’ had every single person on their feet, cheering and singing along.
The show ended with the line “Reach Out and Touch Me” with both the band and the fans throwing their hands in the air trying to reach out.
