Local Natives advance their new work

The indie rock band form Los Angeles has already released a single belonging to their forthcoming work, which will be released in January 2013 under the name Hummingbird. This work comes after their successful Gorilla Manor, which debuted in the Billboard 200 and at No. 3 in the New Artist Chart. The album has been recorded in both Montreal and Brooklyn with The Nationals Aaron Dessner.
The band is formed of members Taylor Rice, Kelcey, Ryan Hahn and Matt Frazier, and have been compared with Arcade Fire, Fleet Foxes, and Vampire Weekend. Their sound has been described as "afropop-influenced guitars with hyperactive drumming and hooky three-part harmonies". It has also being tagged as psych folk, or modern worldly folk.
They will be touring from the end of November, and will reach Londoners the 6th December at Hoxton Bar & Kitchen. ‘Breakers’ will be available on all digital retailers starting 23rd Oct.
