House DJ Carl Cox Setting Out To Help Children Of Conflict

House | Wednesday 4th May 2016 | Megan

Legendary house DJ Carl Cox has launched a text-to-donate campaign with charity music foundation ‘Last Night A Dj Saved My Life’ (LNADJ), which is in support of children in conflict zones via War Child. This newly launched text donation initiative is part of LNADJ’s fundraising campaign, which included a nationwide DJ competition, which 19-year-old aspiring house DJ Holly Louise won. She will play with Carl  Cox at the ‘House The House’ event at the House of Commons on May 11th. She will be the first female and the youngest DJ to play in the House.

For three months, this text donation scheme will be encouraging fans and supporters of Carl, LNADJ and the whole dance music community to come together to give £5 by texting ‘OHYES’ to 70660. All of the money raised will be collected by Instagive on behalf of the LNADJ Foundation. These donations will be added to the total funds and given to War Child to support some of the world’s most vulnerable children affected by the war-torn countries they live in in the Middle East, Afghanistan and Africa.

There will also be a prize draw from the donors on 7th May and four VIP guest list places, including a meet, greet and dance to Carl Cox at the House The House event. The ‘OHYES’ text campaign is also offering a variety of prizes until the campaign closes on July 7th.

This all comes after the House The House event launched in 2013, when Fatboy Slim and then competition winner Bryce Fury made history by becoming the first DJs to play in the House of Commons. Fans can get involved and donate to this cause by texting 'OHYES' to 70660 and donating £5, and could also be one of the lucky winners in the prize draw. Participants are advised to text before the initiative closes on July 7th.
