NME have announced on their website that The Strokes are working on a new album. The band has not yet revealed the title or hinted at what the first single will be; at the moment, they have just told us that they are in the studio to work on it.
And yes, now they are all recording together which is a big difference from their previous work ethic on album, Angles. Having worked as two separate units where instruments were laid down and frontman Julian recorded vocals solo, their previous album sounded heterogeneous, with every song sounding different and as an album sounding random.
Now, It looks like Albert Hammond Jr has taken the leadership of the group. He has confirmed that the new songs have been agreed upon by the whole band and that they are enjoying the process of creating this album quite a lot. The Album is being recorded at Electric Ladyland Studios in New York with the producer Gus Oberg.
And remember, you only live once!
