Why so serious! Donation Delivery Update

Guestlist have done it again!!

The Comedy Night, 'Why so serious?' Has been a hit, bringing the community together, for an important charitable cause and most importantly, having a good laugh.

These super talented and funny comedians have saved the month with their witty jokes and their great, if not somehow surprising, good humour.

This time around, we were able to raise £200 in aid of helping to feed homeless and rough sleepers. This time round we have decided to fund an Outreach centre which is open to rough sleepers, 24/ 7 and runs the 'No second Night Out' program. This place is open to rough sleepers , to visit whenever they need to get supplies as well as a temporary roof over their heads. Although run by St Mungo's, funds are tight at the moment so there is not always enough food available.

The money has been spent in a manner focused mainly on food as well as a small supply of hygiene products. Half the sum went toward resources like homemade sandwiches, nuts, fruit, biscuits, crackers, cheese, energy bars, ready meals etc

The other half has been used to fund 3 cooking classes for up to 10 people over the next 3 months. These cooking classes are a great idea, to open up the kitchen facilities to homeless and rough sleepers and allow them to cook their own food.

This not only provides them with a nutritious and requested hot meal at the end, it also means that the participants can learn something new. Or it may simply mean that they get a chance to re-integrate a routine task in their lives and establish a sense of normality.

Cooking may seem like such a basic activity, but for those in a situation of hardship it can offer hope and an opportunity of self-empowerment, so that envisaging a brighter tomorrow is actually viable and not completely out of reach.

We look forward to giving out more love toward the community and contributing to the 200 people target, to feed by the end of the year.

In the meantime shout out to all those lovely people that made it possible, to those of you who contributed, joined us and obviously have a good sense of humor. Also to those of you who generally believe that every little helps and in the greater good. Bless

Wild Flower :)
